Sir,

Having received from the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China a letter of which a copy is enclosed, the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury have caused the Bank to be informed that Their Lordships have no objection to the proposed re-allocation of the Bank's authorised note-issue between the several Branches in the East.

The Under Secretary of State, Colonial Office.
